What is adsense and how does it work
What is Adsense?
If your already familiar with adsense please scroll
down to the bottom of the page and click next lesson.
Adsense is a program run through google search, it is
paid advertising where someone bids on what they are
willing to pay for click and then google shares part
of the revenue with the webmaster that displayed thier
ads. The amount that is earned per click can be anywhere
from a couple of cents to beyond $50.00
So why are adsense ads more effective than most other
pay per click advertising, this lies in the attitude
of google. See google has had one underlying goal for
thier search engine since its inception and that is to
provide the most relative results in the quickest
amount of time. Click here for more info on Google financials
Googles adsense actually spiders your website, determines
exactly what the content is based on the same principles
as search engine optimization and then they only deliver
ads that relative to the content of your website. This
is without a doubt the most important feature of adsense.
If you have a site that is giving information on say
sporting events and the pay per click ads on your site
are say related to ballroom dance lessons your probably
not gonna get many clicks.
How are ads displayed on a websites, well as you can see
the ad to the left on this page is an ad type referred to
as a wide skyscraper, there are also leaderboards, rectangles,
banners and verticle banners. This allows you to setup
adsense ads that feel like they are actually part of the
website rather than advertisement.
